Cunningham Childrens Home in Urbana, IL seeks a full-time Church and Community Relations Specialist who can develop and implement strategic public relations activities and events. The candidate will speak publicly about Cunningham, conduct campus tours, and build strong relationships with various publics, including the United Methodist Women, the Illinois Great Rivers Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church, and the Champaign-Urbana community, to support the fundraising and advancement goals of the organization. The Church and Community Relations Specialist will provide training for representatives of the United Methodist Women, and supervise other volunteers. Coordinates Christmas activities for the youth and oversee in-kind gift acquisition and stewardship. The Church and Community Relations Specialist oversees the collection and preservation of public relations materials with historic significance for the home and manages alumni relations and homecoming events. This is an excellent career opportunity for a dedicated team player with strong oral and written communication skills who is equally effective in motivating individuals and groups. Four years of experience in Public Speaking, Public Relations, Communications, Marketing and/or Non-profit Marketing, or Fundraising required. Bachelors Degree in Public Relations, Marketing, Communications, Journalism, English or a related area is required. Masters Degree preferred. High skill level and knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and Power Point required. Experience with social media, web site maintenance, desk top publishing (Adobe CS5) preferred.
